Timelines, Process & Quality

Most residential roof replacements are completed in 1–2 days depending on the size and complexity of the roof. Larger homes or those with multiple angles, dormers, or skylights may take 2–3 days. We'll give you a realistic timeline during your free estimate.

You don't need to be home for the entire installation, but we do ask that someone is available at the start of the project. We'll keep you updated throughout the process. We recommend moving vehicles away from the work area and keeping pets inside or away from the home during installation.

If your roof is under 15 years old with isolated damage, a repair is usually the best option. If it's over 20 years old with widespread issues like curling shingles, multiple leaks, or significant granule loss, a full replacement is typically more cost-effective. We'll give you an honest assessment during your free inspection — we never recommend more work than what's needed.

We perform a full tear-off down to the roof decking. This allows us to inspect the decking for damage and replace any deteriorated boards. We then install fresh underlayment before your new roofing material goes on. All old materials are disposed of responsibly, and we use magnetic rollers across your yard and driveway to pick up stray nails.

Yes. We handle all necessary permits for your roofing project. We're familiar with the building codes and permit requirements for Reno, Sparks, Carson City, and surrounding jurisdictions, and we coordinate all required inspections on your behalf.

Pricing, Materials & Warranties

Roof costs vary based on the size of your home, roof pitch, materials selected, and the condition of the existing decking. For asphalt shingles, most homeowners can expect to pay between $8,000 and $18,000. Metal roofing costs more upfront but offers significantly longer lifespan. We provide detailed, itemized estimates so there are no surprises.

For most residential homes, we recommend Class 4 impact-resistant architectural shingles — they offer the best balance of durability, appearance, and value for our climate. Metal roofing is an excellent long-term investment with superior longevity and fire resistance. For commercial properties, TPO membranes provide outstanding energy efficiency and weather protection.

Yes. Every new roof we install comes with two types of warranty: a manufacturer material warranty (typically 25–50 years depending on the product) and our own workmanship warranty that covers installation-related issues. We'll explain all warranty details before your project begins.

Roof lifespan depends on the material: 3-tab shingles last 15–20 years, architectural shingles 25–35 years, metal roofing 40–70 years, and tile 50+ years. Northern Nevada's climate — with intense UV, temperature swings, and occasional hail — can shorten lifespan if the roof isn't properly maintained. We recommend annual inspections to maximize the life of your roof.

Claims, Coverage & Storm Response

Yes. We have extensive experience working with insurance companies on storm damage claims. We'll perform a thorough inspection, take detailed photos, and provide a written assessment of all damage. We coordinate directly with your insurance adjuster to help ensure you receive full coverage for the necessary repairs or replacement.

Yes. Hail can bruise shingles beneath the surface, causing granule loss that isn't visible from the ground but leads to accelerated UV degradation and premature failure. Insurance companies also have a limited filing window for storm damage claims, so prompt action matters. A free inspection from our team can identify hidden damage and protect your investment.

The insurance claim process typically follows five steps:

  1. Report the damage to your insurance company as soon as possible.
  2. An adjuster is assigned to evaluate your claim.
  3. We recommend being present during the adjuster's inspection — and we're happy to be there too to ensure all damage is documented.
  4. A scope of loss is issued by your insurance company outlining approved repairs.
  5. We review the scope with you, confirm it covers all necessary work, and schedule your project.
